Jaymie was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She pursued both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in political science from UTSA. Jaymie has 18 years of experience in the area of governmental relations, specializing in local, state, and the federal government. Jaymie has been employed with UT Health San Antonio since 2006 before she was the VP for External Affairs for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a Congressional Intern for US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Jaymie is married to a surgical nurse, Charles and together, have one son, Ryan.

Erika grew up as a migrant in the Rio Grande Valley, earned a Masters in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania Annenberg School, a B.A. in Plan II Liberal Arts, and a second Bachelor's degree in Science in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.  As a co-founder and 2015/2016 Chair of the Latina Leadership Institute and, much of Erika's passion revolves around efforts to help improve quality of life among underserved populations through girls & women empowerment, growth mindset education, and literacy. She is currently a Senior Director at H-E-B.
